I just finished two pieces, the first one is an obsession of mine and that is the Iditarod. For those of you who don't know what it is, every March in Alaska they hold a dog sledding race through some of the most remote wilderness. It spans over a thousand miles and several days, the winner is the first one to Nome, Alaska. One musher,16 dogs and a sled. Camping outside or at checkpoints, sometimes in -40 to -60temps. For all the over-paid professional athletes these days, these are the true athletes! Check it out on www.Iditarod.com. This piece is going to a wonderful little coffee shop in Ely, Mn called The Front Porch. If your up that way stop in and have a latte, check out the art, they have wonderful wraps, cakes and cookies there! The whitetail buck is somewhat of a tribute to my dad who passed away May 10,2008.He was a gunsmith for 40 years and an avid hunter. From the time I was born he taught me to respect nature, shared the beauty of it with me and for that I'll be forever grateful! This one's for you dad-love ya! I'll be very busy these next few months as I'm getting ready for my biggest gallery showing yet. I will be bringing 12 pieces out to Oregon for a showing in July. The Woodart Center, also known as the Glatt House supports as its name suggests, art made from wood. Hopefully I will beable to post my pieces as I finish them. Until next time-find your peace in nature...
