Here's Chief Joseph completely finished, I burnt some rustic detail around the outside and added a frame, courtesy of my fiancee Dave (he's a woodworker).I was going for an old, rustic look and I think I achieved it, I'm very happy with it!

I just finished my first piece for the upcoming Oregon show at The Woodart Center. I have a passion for the Native American culture, they are a proud people! This is one of my favorites,Chief joseph of the Nez Perce. They occupied the Wallowa Valley in Oregon, and Chief Joseph fought diligently to save his ancestral lands. He was respected and admired, and was a beautifully eloquent speaker.
"If the white man wants to live in peace with the Indian he can live in peace...Treat all men alike. Give them the same law.Give them all an even chance to live and grow. All men were made by the same Great Spirit Chief. They are all brothers. The earth is the mother of all people, and all the people should have equal rights upon it."-Chief Joseph-Nez Perce
